I say this because Mastercam has bugs in it that don’t get fixed from version to version and some of these bugs have existed for years. Here are just a few recent examples of what I mean. I’ll be adding to this list.
1. Lets say you wish to upgrade from Mastercam X2 MR2 SP1 to Mastercam X3 MU1 to take advantage of better surfacing toolpath processing speed which is still way too slow but is at least 25% better in X3 MU1. When you try and migrate your settings from one version to another you end up with all sorts of weird problems, lock ups and crashes. The answer from clique idiots / fanboys on the e-Mastercam forum is always the same… don’t use migration, uninstall the last version completely and install the new version. Like that’s any real answer to what has been an on going problem for years.
2. In X3 MU1 I frequently will have to close Mastercam and restart because it will no longer allow me to undo or redo.
3. I like to leave the Levels Manager in Mastercam open all the time on a separate monitor. This was sold as being a new feature / enhancement for Mastercam X2 MR2. When you do this eventually you will end up with a problem where Mastercam refuses to copy and paste between Levels. The only answer to not experiencing this problem is leave the Level Manager closed when not using it and only pop it up with a hot key when you need it.
If you expect clique idiots / fanboys on the e-Mastercam forum run (very poorly) by In House Solutions to apply pressure to CNC Software and ask for these bugs to be fixed you can forget about it! The clique idiots / fanboys claim they file reports with CNC Software and with their VAR’s because they don’t want to talk about Mastercam’s many, many problems publicly. You’d think these morons would realize that talking about these problems publicly is the only way CNC Software is ever going to feel the needed pressure to fix these on going bugs that make Mastercam such an unreliable product. Many of these e-Mastercam forum clique idiots / fanboys claim to be religious / Born Again Christians. Perhaps they think the answer is to pray harder so that God will help to make Mastercam a better product.
