I haven’t used DP Technology Esprit since it was Esprit X. Based on what I experience with Mastercam X3 MU1 and Mastercam X2 MR2 SP1 on a daily basis I probably would be better off using Esprit which seems to have many advantages over Mastercam. In spite of the fact that we won’t be using Esprit where I work, I took the time to request some sample video training on Esprit CAM that are offered by CIM Integraters.
My request to see two video clips was promptly handled by Randy Rauh. Both video clips were excellent and are done by Steve Wilson who has a no bullshit style of presentation. It’s beyond obvious that Steve’s knowledge of DP Esprit is first rate. Steve is clear, concise and is obviously a skilled machinist and CADCAM programmer along the lines of Mike Mattera who does the Mastercam videos I think so highly of. In my opinion if you’re using DP Technology Esprit or are thinking of properly evaluating it, you would have to be a complete idiot not to invest in this affordable first rate video training.
I’m thinking of buying a few of CIM Integraters Esprit CAM videos done by Steve Wilson just to give myself a better feel for how Esprit CAM approaches CAM compared to Mastercam.
I’m happy to publish unedited any comments from anyone who thinks that these videos are not first rate and not well worth the money. I reserve the right to call you an idiot because I know how rare it is to find experienced machinists/CADCAM programmers like Steve Wilson who know how to teach CADCAM in a no bullshit style that’s real world and interesting to follow.
