“More and more OEMs in the CAD/CAM/CAE industry are selecting pre-designed software components, like ACIS/HOOPS, since it enables them to add more functionality to their end user products faster. “

“Our customers will benefit greatly from the increased performance and capabilities HOOPS allows us to provide in IRONCAD. This integration allows IronCAD developers to focus on enhancing IRONCAD’s core capabilities, while developers at Tech Soft 3D work to deliver improvements to graphical performance and visualization.”

If your CADCAM application has lousy graphics, like say Mastercam X2 MR2 SP1 does, you should be asking why the company that makes the software you use is too cheap to license Techsoft 3D HOOPS. As someone commented on my other blog, Mastercam chaining arrows often disappear or are very hard to see. This is totally unacceptable and quite frankly programming resources are better spent on other things. It’s time to demand that CNC Software stop being so cheap and license Techsoft 3D HOOPS for Mastercam because Mastercam graphics just suck and anyone who tells you any different is a either a liar or ignorant of the high quality graphics that exist in products that use Techsoft 3D HOOPS.
Jon,
Thanks for the positive recommendation for HOOPS. I’m not personally acquainted with MasterCAM’s graphics performance or capabilities, but I of course know that it is a popular CAM system. We do help quite a number of CAD/CAM/CAE companies in the graphics area and we’d of course be glad to talk to CNC Software about improving MasterCAM as well. We’ll get in touch with them shortly to see what we can do to help.
